3 BEAUTY OILS I SWEAR BY

You've probably been wondering what the fuss is all about when it comes to these growing number of beauty oils and essential oils in the market. Not to worry, I was just as curious as you! So, today, I'm here to share with you three healing and beauty oils that I've tried in the recent past.

#1 Bio-Oil

Sometime in late 2016, I got some nasty bed bug bites that left horrible bumps and scars all over my arms and legs. I am not going to lie, I cry almost every night looking at my poor arms and legs during those times. That time, I just moved from Baguio to Manila, and the city's heat was killing me BUT I can't wear mini dresses, skirts or shorts outside because I don't have the guts to show off those awful scars. I'd rather die than be seen like that. Yes! I am that vain! Almost everyday, I'd read about ways on how I can get rid of my scars as quickly as I could. The truth is, there is no overnight solution. Whatever it is that I'd choose, I'd have to wait for quite some time before I can see a result.

During my dramatic research, I stumbled upon this miraculous scar-removing oil called Bio-Oil. I read everything about it before I purchased a bottle. It was quite pricey but I have to say it was SO worth it! I had to wait for a total of 6 months for all the scars to clear up. And once they did, there was not a single trace of them! It was as if those scars were never there at all! You'd start seeing results during the first few weeks, little improvements I should say. I was already satisfied during the 3rd month, but I kept using it until I can no longer see traces of the scars that almost ruined my life. Bio-Oil can be used on scars from surgery and to prevent and heal stretch marks from pregnancy or rapid weight gain/loss. I've read from their site that it's also a good remedy for dry skin, aging skin and uneven skin tone due to hyper-pigmentation especially on the face.

If you have old or new scars, I highly recommend this product! Check out other people's testimonials as well! This is an international best-seller, so, go and see for yourself! If you're living in the Philippines, you can get yours at Watsons and Mercury Drugstores.

#2 Sunflower Beauty Oil Luxe (by Human Nature)

Summer season can get a bit stressful for girls and women because it's that time of the year again to show off your bikini body. The only thing harder than working hard to get that bikini body is working on that bikini area. I hate seeing rashes and that hyper-pigmentation around that area. Sometimes, I'd really feel uncomfortable down there because of my tight-fitting clothes or underwear, most of the time because of sanitary pads. For years, I've been looking for something that could help me get over my dark secrets. As much as possible, I want to find affordable, natural/organic products since that is a sensitive area and I wouldn't want to use too much chemicals around it. Now, I've been using quite a number of skincare products from Human Nature - a local brand that was introduced to me by a former co-worker, and I remembered reading about sunflower oil from the brochure that she gave me months ago. I read the info about it again and decided to purchase one recently. I've only been using it for a few weeks, so, I can't say that that area is sparkling white right now, but I have seen awesome changes - both texture and color! It really calms and lightens that stubborn part which means more peace of mind for me!

You can also use this Sunflower Oil on your hair, face and whole body. I stopped using it on my face because after applying it on top of my other skincare products, I immediately had tiny bumps on my cheeks and they're quite itchy. Maybe it just doesn't go well with my moisturizer and serum? Anyway, I'm really scared of scarring, so, if something like this happens when I'm trying out new skincare products, I'd immediately stop. Fortunately, the bumps faded after a few hours.

At the moment, I am using it on my elbows, knees, bikini area and underarm and it's working just fine! You can get yours at Watsons, you can order this online from Beauty Manila as well or you can buy from friends or family members who are selling Human Nature products. I got mine from Shopwise, the 50 ml bottle costs Php 299.

#3 CPC + G Oil (by V&M Naturals)

I actually ordered this CPC + G Oil from Beauty Manila sometime last year. This product is from V&M Naturals, another local brand that is currently making its name in the beauty industry. This product has a good combination of Calamansi- Papaya - Camellia Japonica (Tsubaki) and Grapefruit extract that brightens the skin and makes it look healthier. I used it for months for the dark and rough areas of my body such as elbows and knees, underarm, nape of the neck and bikini area. I read a lot of reviews and testimonials about this product too before purchasing one. I personally love the scent of this product. I also used V&M's Bikini Bomb Salve along with this, but I'm out of that salve now (I haven't repurchased yet!) and I still have a bit of this CPC + G Oil. The only reason I switched to Sunflower Oil is because of their price difference. The 30 ml of CPC + G Oil costs Php 350. But honestly, I love them both! I'm just really trying to be frugal these days, so, I'd always go for things or products that can give me what I want and need for a lower price.

If you'd like to try this product, you can order from Beauty Manila, from V&M site or if you live somewhere near MOA (Mall of Asia), I saw one of their stores there last time I visited that mall - second floor of Main Mall (Near cinemas and Levi's).

There are quite a lot of choices out there, I've been hearing a lot about argan oil as well, I haven't tried it though. You can use certain oils for your bath, pillow cases or you can even add them to your favorite lotions. I think we should take advantage of the growing number of available beauty and essential oils in the market because the effects are not just skin-deep. Simply getting a whiff of most of these essential oils could tone a bad mood a few notches down. Knowing that you are taking extra care of yourself, aside from the basic skincare routine, is also good for your soul and your entire well-being. It's not just the vanity in me speaking, we really owe it to ourselves to be at our best as often as possible because that's the only way we can truly enjoy our life.

You don't really have to go to a spa all the time to feel that peace and serenity, it's possible to get that as well in the comforts of your own home. (Or in my case, DORM!)

Have you been using essential or beauty oils as well? If so, let me know which ones are your favorites and how do you use them. If not, would you give them a try?

    1. So cool that you're using one of my favorite and trusted brands! It took me a long time to switch to organic products...but I guess when you've had enough of the trendy and glorified ones and realize they are not really working that well on your skin anymore, you would eventually look for something that suits your skin type.

  2. How in the world do you find the time to put all these products in different parts of your body? Some text here were a bit uhm...things I haven't given a thought...considering they are a bit private....but yeah, nice to know there are so many things to be learned from this post, aside from the beauty oils.

    1. I'm using a Time-Turner! Hahaha! Nah, seriously, once they become part of your routine, skincare would be like second-nature. Though, during Summer season, it could get a bit uncomfortable (or even annoying) to use oils. I'm glad you can get something useful from my posts! Thank you so much for reading my blog!!!
