Life Lately: BEST CHAPTER, SO FAR!

What's up guys?!

I'm back! Woohoo! And I got some good news too! You read the title right, this is the best chapter of my life so far. Why? I'm here to spill everything, don't worry! (No, I'm not getting married yet!)

First of all, it's Pink Pensieve's seventh year on the blogosphere! If there's one thing I've been consistently doing for the last seven years, it is updating this blog - documenting my shenanigans and sharing about my greatest life lessons. And I don't know why and how but quite a lot of changes happened recently that are directly relevant to my blog or my life as a blogger. It's pretty much the same feeling that I felt when I was about to leave my country to work as a foreign teacher abroad. Except that this time, I'm not packing my luggage and I'm not heading somewhere, which is very rare, right? Which leads me to my next point...

I've broken my own employment record, yo! Last June, I celebrated my second anniversary in my current company. Now, it's been two years and a month actually. If you've been reading my blog for quite sometime now, you'd know that the longest time I've been employed in one company was almost two years. It was one week short to make it to a two-year employment. Is this what it feels like to settle? To be an adult? Haha~

And since we're talking about adulting, here's another stunt I recently did - I finally got a brand new laptop, yo! The one that I've been using for years is on the verge of giving up (though I really hope it won't because I still have to transfer a lot of files to my new one). I bought it sometime in 2013 from my sister's friend; it was slightly used and pretty cheap. It was all I had all these years. I used it to create blog contents and YouTube videos, and of course some paperwork and other teacher duties back when I was still working in a classroom. The keyboard broke sometime in 2016 while I was living and working in Baguio. So, from then on, I've been using an external keyboard when I need to use it. It's ridiculous and crazy hard, you guys! But I made it work for almost three more years. But I've had enough of that. So...I did what I could to get a new one, but I couldn't have purchased it on my own.

To the people who are involved before, during and after this adulting stunt, my deepest gratitude! I'll make sure to document more shenanigans using my new toy! Seriously, I'm just a kid with a paycheck. I refer to anything I buy as a 'new toy' because I'm basically using them to play and have fun. But upon reaching this age, I've learned how to play or have fun while making money. Ha! So, the next thing has something to do with my childlike personality...

Tada!!!

If you've read my previous blog post, you would know that I've been selling some of my artwork to my friends, relatives, coworkers and former coworkers. Well, I took it up a notch and finally launched my second Instagram account to offer my artwork to anyone who can appreciate it. If you check out that Instagram page (@pink_pensieve), you would see this photo as my latest post. I get ecstatic every time I hear people giving compliments about my artwork, and this project was something that I've been obsessing with for quite sometime now. So, imagine my monkey grin that day I laid my hands on them. I did this project while I'm juggling my full-time work, working on my other orders and binge-watching anime! This is the first time I'm selling the printed and digital versions of my artwork. And again, I couldn't do it without the help of some people.

And speaking of people, I recently met a bunch of friggin' cool people. How? Well, remember when I hiked Mt. Pulag almost the same time last year? Yeah, I made a promise to myself that I would do that again but, I want it somewhere near Manila. Unfortunately, none of my friends was able to join me on this trip. Even so, I'll always remember this hike because this time, I was able to survive Nagpatong Rock Formation as a solo joiner! I'm going to make another detailed post about that next time, but if you have time to watch the vlog version, it's already up on my YouTube channel.

I'm almost half-asleep as I'm typing the last few lines here, but I certainly cannot leave this one out. If you've noticed, I finally have a domain for Pink Pensieve! Yay!!! This is something that's been keeping me up all night. I've always been looking forward to the day I would seriously have a DOT COM, and though my dream of owning "CYNDREL.COM" will never come true anymore, I was still in seventh heaven when I finally had the guts to purchase and configure this domain.

It's not easy, but I'm having fun doing what I do now. Making phone calls, trips to the bank and other things that push me out of my comfort zone, I don't always like them, but I know I have to do them in order to reach my goals. I lack sleep most of the time, but I make sure to pay off my sleep debt whenever I can. I don't get to see my friends often, but I'm glad they could understand that I'm trying to grow and hone my skills when I go missing in action for weeks or months in a row. There's always a trade off for everything that we wish to do. The question is, what are we willing to go through?  Sometimes, it's necessary to sacrifice a bit now so we can enjoy more later. Learning the art of delayed gratification...I think that's what I'm learning right now. I waited so long to get to where I am right now and to get the things that I want. These things that I've mentioned, they did not happen overnight. But one thing's for sure, they were all worth the wait!

What have you been up to these days? Do you have goals that you still have to smash within the last few months of 2019? Drop your comments in the comment box below. I'd love to hear from you!
