LSS: Free (from K-pop Demon Hunters!)

Hey ya!

It's been a really long while again! And I can't believe I'm back here JUST to drop the song that's been playing non-stop in my head...and in all of my socials!

I also can't believe I finally gave in to the hype. I know that K-pop Demon Hunters has been the craze for about 3 or 4 months now...but I only saw it last week! Hahaha~ 

A few friends, students and even moms of my students really pushed me to watch this animated movie. Turns out, it was really GOOD! First of all - because of MUSIC! I liked it because it's mostly about music. The main theme song 'Golden' is really amazing, I gotta admit! Very catchy, but insanely hard to sing live. Another thing that piqued my interest was when I saw a short clip of the singing voices of the main characters on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon. I know that nowadays, he's been inviting quite a lot of K-pop stars on his show, so, I thought they were just another 'guest'. But when I learned that it was actually their first time to sing the theme song LIVE...well, it was pretty much just like in the movie...so, I watched the entire performance of the song on the Facebook page of The Tonight Show...right after I saw the movie.   

I don't know why I blabbered a lot about 'Golden' when the song that I really want to talk about is the song 'Free'. Haha~ 

It's the duet of Jinu and Rumi which is about...well, being FREE! In the story, Jinu, a 'demon', has been suffering a lot due to the memories of his family that Gwi-Ma actually distorted or manipulated. Rumi was pretty much on the same boat when it comes to mental burdens - being born 'half-demon' and half demon hunter, she's torn between her nature versus who she really wants to be. She has been hiding her true identity from her friends/groupmates for a long time, and she wants to be free from the guilt that she's been carrying around. Anyway, the song will make sense once you watch the movie! (If you haven't seen it yet, go watch it NOW!)

I so so so so love the harmony between the two! Insane vocals!!! And the scene from the movie was quite dramatic, too! So, yeah, all the feels yo! If you're following me on my other socials, you would know that I've been using THIS song for most of my reels and posts. And I kid you not, it's playing almost non-stop on my Spotify every time I'm not on a video call. I play it when I wake up, when I'm taking a break from work, when I'm cleaning, before going to bed, and I'm pretty sure it's still playing in my mind even in my sleep. It's just magical~

I actually can't wait for the next movie, it's got a major cliff hanger! Let me know if you've seen this movie or if you have heard any of the theme songs.
